Let’s find the career you’ll truly love.
Career Counseling
Online throughout the United States from Grand Rapids, Michigan
Let’s face it, you’re here because you’ve tried finding a job on your own, and it’s not working.
Maybe….
You’ve been in the same job too long and you’re feeling burned out
You’re in a job that doesn’t fit your needs or your goals in life and you feel stuck
You have tried looking for jobs, but get lost in how to stand out on applications or in interviews
You’ve been applying to hundreds of jobs but rarely hear anything back
You’re in college with a major you don’t like
You recently graduated and have no idea how to use your college degree (or maybe you don’t even want to use it)
What’s worse is now, you see it affecting you even outside of work.
You spend hours looking at other jobs online every week.
You start to feel anxious on Sundays because you know Monday is coming.
Everything you do feels harder than it should be.
You feel overwhelmed by everyone’s opinions on what to do.
You never want to go to work.
You feel exhausted.
You feel burnt out.
You feel defeated.
Life doesn’t have to stay this way!
After years of working with clients in career counseling, I have found that most of our career counseling work can be done in 4-6 sessions!
SESSION ONE: CAREER INTAKE
Before we meet, I will ask you to complete an intake form. This will give me a starting point for developing a plan to help you identify what matters to you. When we meet, I’ll send you a form to ask questions and learn more about your experiences so far. I’ll ask questions about your previous jobs, family experiences with work, your past dreams about careers, your hobbies, etc. All of these questions help paint a picture for me to start giving you feedback on the careers that may fit you best.
SESSION TWO: CAREER ASSESSMENTS
Between sessions 1 and 2, I will give you some assessments to take. Often, we can use some free assessments. In session 2, we will go over the results and begin to talk about how the combination of these results can give a clearer picture than any single career assessment. I will use my knowledge and experience in guiding others on their career journeys to help offer suggestions for further exploration and ask questions about some of the obstacles that have been in your way. I’ll create a customized job exploration worksheet for you to use as you explore career options
SESSION THREE: APPLYING WHAT YOU’VE LEARNED
We talk through your research and begin to explore what this means for your next steps. If you’re a student, it might mean shifting your major or talking with an advisor. If you’re employed, it may mean talking with a supervisor or beginning to talk with others about networking. If you’re feeling stuck and just starting out in a new career path, it may mean helping you find companies that match your goals so that you can start moving in the right direction.
SESSIONS FOUR-SIX: SKILLS TRAINING (RESUMES, INTERVIEWS, ETC.)
These sessions include a lot of teaching and training for skills both in document creation and interviewing. I will continue to go through resources and teach you how to use these best to help you as you move forward to find the work you love. These sessions are even more tailored to your needs so we will focus on what you need rather than go over information you may already know.
(OPTIONAL SESSIONS/COACHING SESSIONS)
If at any point, you feel you need more help with exploring careers, practical skills, etc. I am happy to provide additional sessions. You may find that you want to transition to career coaching if you find yourself prepping for an interview and simply want to get professional feedback on your skills.
I know it may sound impossible, but you can feel energized by your work! You can find work-life balance! You can love what you do! And I can help you get there!
WHAT WE’LL DO TOGETHER
Career counseling can help you:
Identify your Unique Career Profile
By exploring your career history, your current interests, skills, work values, and preferred roles, we will develop a unique career profile that allows you to explore jobs with an understanding of which careers fit you best.
Discover jobs you didn’t even know existed
By diving into a variety of resources and websites that help you learn more about the careers out there, we will help you identify not only how to look for jobs but which careers have the best outlook for the future.
Stand out as a top candidate for the jobs that matter
By developing a clear picture of your strengths and goals, you will have a better idea of how to craft the materials needed to help you get the interview and then land the job!
Common questions about Career Counseling

-
Career Coaching focuses more on the skills to “get the job,” whereas Career Counseling focuses on helping you get a clearer picture of the types of jobs that will fit you best.
